Position: PR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
Salary: £30-35,000 pa negotiable including benefits

Description:

• Play the lead role in ensuring clients are invoiced properly and on time
• Work with the MD and team to deliver on turnover and profitability targets
• Be across recovery rates and potential over-servicing on accounts, updating the team and the MD to alert them of issues.
• Complete time sheets daily and manage your account team completing theirs
• Ensure bought in services come in on time and in budget, working closely with team members and suppliers to achieve this. Alert the MD where potential issues arise.
• Be at the forefront in recognising new areas of work for the team, working with the MD to innovate and keep updated on the latest industry best practice


Client handling

• Oversee the management and implementation of activity for clients, ensuring the account team meets its objectives and target coverage for each project and/or activity
• Provide strategic input to client accounts through a clear understanding of their business goals and requirements
• Play a strategic role in supporting the account manager in client meetings ensuring they run efficiently and that actions are carried out. Oversee the management of the meeting through the team.
• Develop friendly and professional relationships and consistently surpass client expectations. Manage the development of those relationships with all team members and keep clients fully updated with any changes to the account handling structure
• Produce or oversee the production of hard-hitting, well-written press releases that consistently hit the mark with clients and journalists. Ensure your writing contains no mistakes at first draft and actively manage the development of the team’s writing ability
• Work with Managers/Executives on your accounts to ensure that every piece of work is delivered to the high quality standards and to its full potential 


Team Working 

• Act as line manager for your team, supporting them and responding to and addressing issues in line with our clients ethos and company policy
• Be responsible for managing the account team’s workload to ensure all deadlines and objectives are met
• Through mentoring and coaching, support the development of junior team members
• Recognise and seek opportunities to resolve areas for improvement within the team 

Business development

• Pro-actively seek out cross-selling opportunities that match clients’ business objectives – creating proposals and liaising with suppliers to agree costs
• Play a leading role in new business development by networking, attending meetings, writing proposals and securing pitches. 
• Play a leading role in setting recruitment targets, liaising with recruitment agencies and addressing recruitment needs
• Manage the recruitment process including conducting telephone interviews, updating candidates and setting appropriate writing exercises
